The Plot:

In the 19th century England, a mysterious plague turns the countryside into a war zone. No one is safe as the dead come back to life to terrorise the land. Fate leads Elizabeth Bennet, a master of martial arts and weaponry, to join forces with Mr. Darcy, a handsome but arrogant gentleman. Elizabeth can't stand Darcy, but respects his skills as a zombie killer. Casting aside their personal differences, they unite on the battlefield to save their country.

The Verdict:

If you're fascinated or just a fan a zombie films you may like this movie. Personally, I am not.

This movie is a period, battle-scarred love story...with zombies. It seemed a little like the screen writers just went "How can we create a war romance movie that hasn't been done before? Oh, I know let's just add zombies."

Although this movie wasn't up my alley it was entertaining. The story flowed along with the assistance of an amazing soundtrack, beautifully designed costumes and interesting sets.

The movie is tagged as a Romance, Action and Horror but I'm throwing in comedy. There are many comical moments throughout the movie thanks to Matt Smith's character, Parson Collins. Collins the overly camp priest tries his best to win over the love of his cousin Elizabeth Bennet, played by Lily James, to guarantee her a future of wealth and happiness. This is where the plot gets a little confusing and the characters go astray. Elizabeth likes Mr Darcy, but doesn't like Mr Darcy, her mother wants her to marry Parson Collins, Elizabeth and her sisters are Chinese martial arts experts and let's not start on the zombies.

The morals to this movie is that true love can conquer anything, woman are just as capable to fighting in the war against zombies as men and the war against the zombies clearly isn't over.
