Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

It's been nearly two years since Superman's colossal battle with Zod devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne. Convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the conniving Lex Luthor launches his own crusade against the Man of Steel.

Director, Zack Snyder, told us as the media to not give away any plot points or secrets so everyone can experience the film spoiler free. So as a movie review this may be a little different, but I'll do my best.
It's the age old question that keeps avid super fans up at night, who would win the ultimate battle royale between Batman and Superman. Everyone has their favourite.
Batman v Superman has been one of the most highly anticipated movies so far for 2016. So does it stand up to the hype surrounding it?
I sit in the cinema waiting for the movie to start surrounded by what seems to be every Batman and Superman fan in Sydney. Will there be roar of excitement throughout the film as the battle begins or will people walk out confused and a little let down? Perhaps more importantly is Ben Affleck much of a Batman?
The lights go dim and the movie begins. Just like every Batman movie, we must start from the killing of his parents. I never understood why they always did that with his movies. Unless you have been hiding under a rock or you were born yesterday, we all know how Bruce Wayne became an orphan but rose above it all to become the vigilante Gotham needed. We are then introduced to the other 'guy' in this movie Superman as he is in the midst of saving Metropolis. Bruce Wayne has just arrived to get everyone out of the Wayne Enterprise building. That part got me a little confused as I thought the Wayne Enterprise building was in Gotham... But as it turns out Gotham is just across the river from Metropolis, go figure.
But what is this movie really about?
- Why do Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent want to take each other down?
- Is the world not big enough for two superheroes?
- Is the world fighting back against the god like superhero, Superman, after the destruction and devastation he leaves in his wake?
- Who is the real bad guy in this movie? Is it Batman? Is it Superman? Is it Lex Luthor? Is it something or someone else?
- Is this movie just the start of something much bigger?
- Is this going to be like an Avengers thing?
Since I can't divulge any plot points I'll just commend the massive final battle scene which boasts outstanding special effects, knee shaking action and a truely heroic ending.
There are so many twists and turns in this movie. It's probably one of those movies you'll need to see multiple times to even begin to pick up on each little clue left in the movie that relates to another part of the DC world.
If you're a first timer to this world, you will probably come out a little confused and have more than a few questions. But if you're a fan, you will want to see it again and again.
