The Verdict:

From Sony Animation and Marvel studios comes a comedy cartoon piece of our beloved skinny, red and blue swinging Spider-Man.

This animation, which takes place in current day, follows a young boy, Miles Morales, who lives in Brooklyn and is struggling to comes to terms with the fact he has left his past schooling life and now attends high end prep school on the other side of the city.

One night out with his uncle adding a splash of colour to the city, Miles is bitten by a spider. This then gives him Spider-Man abilities and his body starts to change uncontrollably.

When trying to discover more about his body, Miles stumbles across a secret lair and gets a front row seat watching Spider-Man swing into a showdown trying to defend off the Goblin who is under the command King Pin. King Pin is creating a multi-verse portal machine in order to bring his family back together, after a fight between himself and Spider-Man tore them apart.

At the end of the fight Spider-Man is pushed into the collider and calls upon all other Spider-Men in alternate universes.

Peter Parker, as we know, loses to King Pin and the city of New York mourns his passing. But a young new Spider-Man is waiting in the wings to follow through with a promise to protect the city. Miles has a steep learning curve ahead of him but little does he know he’s about to run into alternate versions of Spider-Man.

We meet older Spider-Man rundown and out of shape, an asian futuristic Spider-Man, a young girl with her robot Spider-Girl, noir Spider-Man from the past and the best of one them all Spider Pig or Spider-Ham as his known in the movie.

They all team up to fight King Pin and destroy the collider. The problem is, only one of them can do it. If a Spider-Man/Girl from another universe saves the day, they will die. Miles is the only person that can save the world.

Will Miles be able to control his new powers or will he swing to his death?

This comical animation is one for the whole family to enjoy. If you’re a massive Spider-Man fan there are many hidden surprises for you to enjoy.
